GBT Realty’s West End tower The Sinclair to advance, featuring extensive area mobility improvements

Located at 2416 West End Ave., the project team underwent extended engagement with neighbors to deliver a comprehensive vision for stunningly designed tower that benefits the surrounding community.

NASHVILLE, TENN. (November 18, 2021) – GBT Realty is today unveiling new details for The Sinclair, its eloquently designed tower with an anchor address of 2416 West End, the well-known intersection between West End and Elliston. The project is now fully entitled to advance after its Preliminary Specific Plan (SP) was approval by the Metro Council. The project’s SP was previously passed on the consent agenda at the Metro Planning Commission.

After extensive communication with more than 200 neighboring stakeholders over the last year and garnering significant community support, GBT Realty is committed to spending $1.25 million on offsite public improvements meant to enhance pedestrian accessibility, safety and access in the immediate area, which includes neighboring Centennial Park and Vanderbilt University.

As part of this commitment, GBT Realty will work closely with NDOT and neighbors to generate a prioritized list of offsite mobility projects, which includes (but is not limited to):

  • Creating pathway along the eastern section of Centennial Park
  • Improvements at surrounding intersections such as West End at 25th Ave. North and West End at Natchez Trace

Said Fiona Haulter, Senior Vice President of Development at GBT Realty, “We’re proud of the close coordination and collaboration we’ve had with neighboring stakeholders, city officials, and the area council member Brandon Taylor to move The Sinclair forward. This will not only be an iconic development for Nashville with original design that is inspiring and distinct, but it will greatly enhance and connect the community it is located within. We’re excited to have full entitlements to advance our work and ultimately prepare for construction.”

Gresham Smith & Partners is leading architecture and design duties. The Sinclair is intended to be a statement building worthy of one of Nashville’s most known intersections.

“The Sinclair’s design utilizes strong lines, texture and dynamic form to create slender verticality and movement within the sky, ensuring a design that is an exciting, original, and memorable addition to Nashville,” said Brian Hubbard, AIA, Senior Architect at Gresham Smith.

The building begins with anchored scale on West End, then elegantly cascades down in height to the more pedestrian and existing scale of Elliston.

The project will primarily be multifamily, allowing residents easy access to neighborhood amenities like restaurants and Centennial Park and access to transportation along a major transportation corridor in West End. The 27-story building will feature up to 375 units, ground floor retail and restaurant space and all below-grade parking.

GBT Realty’s development team for 2416 West End Avenue is spearheaded by Jeff Pape, Managing Director, and Haulter. They are targeting a Q4 of 2022 groundbreaking.
